Why we wrote it

Gold deserves better than blind faith - and investors deserve better than a sales brochure.

Most Gold IRA companies are legitimate businesses providing a service many investors genuinely value. A good specialist can make a complicated retirement transaction far easier to understand and complete.

But Gold IRA decisions often involve large sums, unfamiliar rules and products that can be difficult to compare. A customer can receive excellent service, own genuine gold and still lose thousands through an excessive markup, a wide buy/sell spread, unsuitable products or avoidable tax and custody mistakes.

We wrote this book to put the investor back in control. It explains the industry without demonising it, supports the case for physical gold without pretending it is infallible, and gives readers the questions and arithmetic needed to judge a transaction on its merits.

What the book gives you

Knowledge that changes the conversation.

The aim is not to turn you into a tax lawyer or bullion trader. It is to make sure you understand enough to protect yourself, compare properly and ask the questions that matter.

1

See the starting loss before you buy

Learn how to compare the purchase price with the immediate repurchase value, calculate the true spread and understand how far gold must rise before you break even.

2

See through the sales pitch

Recognise the fear script, false urgency, scarcity language, product steering and buyback claims that can distort a long-term retirement decision.

3

Know who is responsible for what

Understand the distinct roles of the account owner, custodian, administrator, precious-metals dealer and depository - and where accountability can disappear between them.

4

Make a decision you can stand behind

Choose the account structure, allocation, products, providers, storage arrangement and exit plan before anyone else has a financial interest in your answer.

The No-BS standard

A Gold IRA should still make sense when the advertisements are silent and no salesperson is waiting for your answer.

A sound Gold IRA transaction begins with a clear purpose, a measured allocation, transparent pricing, suitable products and written terms you fully understand.

Who should read it

Before the first call. Before the rollover. Before the trade.

Whether you are only beginning to investigate gold or already have a proposal in front of you, the book is designed to meet you at the point where better information can still save money.

The curious investor

You believe gold may belong in your retirement plan but want an honest explanation of the benefits, limitations and alternatives before deciding.

The active buyer

You are speaking with Gold IRA companies, reviewing quotes or considering a rollover and need to know exactly what to ask before approving anything.

The existing owner

You already hold metals in an IRA and want to review your fees, products, valuation, storage, buyback options, distributions or estate planning.

About the authors

Written from inside the industry - for the person on the other end of the sales call.

Mac Saxe and Alison Macdonald bring more than four decades of combined experience from both sides of the precious-metals market: working inside companies, and alongside them as advisers and clients, across sales, customer service, publishing, company research and consumer protection.

That perspective has given them a rare view of how Gold IRAs really work, where the money goes and how to distinguish a fair deal from an expensive mistake. Their work through Bullion.Directory informs a book that is firmly pro-gold, fair to reputable providers and focused on helping readers recognise the companies that genuinely put customers first - and those that don't.

Buy with your eyes open

Before you move retirement money into gold, understand the transaction you are about to make.
